Belmont Stakes Winners

The Belmont Stakes is the last premier race in the United States that’s involved with the Triple Crown. The last horse to win the Belmont Stakes and to win the Triple Crown was in 1978 by the horse named Affirmed and the fast time ever recorded in the 1 and a half mile race belongs to Secretariat at 2 minutes 24 seconds (a full two seconds faster than any other winner) and won by an outstanding 31 lengths. We have inclosed the history of all Belmont Stakes Winners since the beginning in 1867.

The Belmont Stakes has a rich history in fantastic races and upsets. Did you know just over a decade ago a 70-1 one horse won the 2002 Belmont Stakes? The horse Sarava was trained by Kenneth McPeek and although the finishing time of the race was not impressive at 02:29.71 it was still enough to deny War Emblem of the Triple Crown. Personally one of my favorite races in this era goes to the race in 2005 in which Afleet Alex exploded during the final turn and ended up winning by seven lengths. Sadly after that race we never got to watch Afleet Alex run again as they decided to retire him from racing. Here is a few videos from YouTube on each race.
